Train of the Tsars
The E656.476 here is pulling a Russian convoy, nicknamed by railfans the "Train of the Tsars", which links Moscow with Nice, the Cote dAzur. The articulated electric locomotives series E656, built by various Italian companies in the railway sector, are nicknamed Caiman. The Russian convoy consists of luxury sleeping cars, type WLABmee and WLSRmee of Russian Railways and dining cars of the Polish railways, replacing the Russian ones while traveling in EU for problems of gauge. Here we are on the historical line or slow line of Giovi, which takes its name from the homonymous pass, line through the Ligurian Apennines and connecting Milan and Turin to Genoa, near Pietrabissara.
